Spring & Inspiration in Central Park
Work was so stressful that I decided to take a walk through Central Park before getting on the train to go home. It was well worth it because I came upon this lovely scene. Not having a walkman inspired me to turn my thoughts into stories and suddenly the words to a poem began to take shape. Words of a living poem that has yet to be concluded makes it harder to capture.
So the words, phrases, & thoughts were being churned and turned, like butter in the making, as I worked the poem in my head. The downside to listening to music all the time is that snippets of lyrics tend to sneak in to the poem, sending me back to the drawing board. Which means I need to have another chat with my muse.

Of course it's right, Jason, I'm a native New Yorker, I know which direction the moon crosses over the horizon AND which bridge is which!
Nope I didn't take it, a co-worker took it with their NEW cell phone and sent it to me. I'm a bit envious of their phone.

Yes I did, with a borrowed camera no less. I'm saving my pennies to buy a really nice digital high-end quality (read hopefully 10 megapixel) compact camera. I finally saw a nikon that would be perfect for me. So I'm waiting for either the price to come down or my funds to go up before I buy.

Before & After The Snow Storm
I'd bet you'd never guess this was Central Park during a snow storm.
This is a pic with an actual camera, instead of my cell phone, of the lovely Central Park earlier today, when it was sunny.

And wishing I was there, on the beach in the U. S. Virgin Islands sitting in a hammock swinging away under the shade of a palm tree a soft breeze lulls me to sleep, instead of here enduring legislative hell week!!!! I'm still hangin' in there doing most of my blog visiting via my Treo 650.

Upstate NY
This is what 118" looks like in Parish, NY! Of course the reporter couldn't get to Redfield, NY because they've had 146" of snow in the last 9 days. And there's more snow and sub-freezing temps to come tomorrow, thanks to a storm brewing in Tennessee. I hope Tammi brought snow boots. I thought I'd post this just to give the rest of us gratitude that we're not snowed in as they are. Do you see the people clearing off the roof's?
Of course for those thinking global warming, keep in mind that the record snowfall in one year is held by the lovely town of Hooker, NY with a total accumulation of 466.9 inches that fell in the winter of of 1976-77. So you see, things aren't all THAT bad.
Anyway, I'm working on a special edition of Musical Monday (which I'll post later) for some very special people. Enjoy life till then.

Dreaming of DC
Tomorrow I get some Dr. news, but last night I was dreaming of DC. Maybe its because I'm wondering if they'll be a mob of camera crews, media pundits and other political vultures circling as I leave my Dr's office tomorrow. Is there no privacy these days?

CPK - NYC's Reservoir
Just to give you an idea of how big Central Park really is, I used to be able to run twice around the perimeter of this reservoir, which is located 2/3 of the way into park.

Yeah, that picture, sure is purty... Kinda reminds me of an "outdoor" hooters, all the lights and stuff. It could only be better if there was a little fella in there somewhere
with a fishin' pole, and a fish on... Check Oddy... She and her little fella have that fishin' thing goin' on now.

Agree with Tammi, Hoosier-girl...I miss the colors of Fall and the first snow of winter. Oh and those perfect winter days, about 30 degrees, low humidity and just cold enough to snow, but warm enough to run around in just a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. To me, that is bliss!
Thank you for sharing the beautiful reminder.
