First, yesterdayÂ’s highlights: The nudes Close to 60 protestors were arrested in 5 locations around the city. 2 of these protests were impromptu actions and had no permits. Of all the protests two of the most notable were the protestors that bared it all for their cause. According to one of their members, they were exposing the Naked Truth about Aids.
The other was a group of 8 rappellers that scaled down the side of The Plaza Hotel located across Central Park. Their actions alarmed guests staying at the hotel as they saw the reppelers scale down past their windows and cover them with a huge banner.
I hope Harvey enjoys the pics, oh thatÂ’s right, he only has 16 colors.
So far, the number of protestor arrests have gone up by 50% since last Thursday. We expect that number to quadruple as a number of organizations have vowed to ignore the court rulings against them. ItÂ’s important to note that these organizations, including United for Peace and Justice, had balked on 3 march and rally permits they originally signed off on. After the last agreement, they waited 2 weeks before holding a press conference to reject the agreement and then decided to go to court to push their agenda and force the NYPD to bow to their wishes.
BTW, some of their members were arrested last night in Union Square for a 2:00am disturbance. I guess in their eyes, since their demands were rejected they see it as how they chant: NO Justice NO Peace. LOVELY!
One thing to note, these protesters are arrested for illegal actions, such as spray-painting private property, breaking windows, throwing objects (like garbage cans) at opposing protestors and scaling private buildings to unfurl banners. Notice, not one arrest has been for exercising their right to
rally, protest or exercise theyÂ’re first amendment right.
